Catalyst Game Labs Board Games CAT-35723 Editorial Review
The BattleTech Inner Sphere Battle Lance is a must-have for fans of the classic mech miniatures game. This box set includes four durable and detailed mech miniatures - the Warhammer, Rifleman, Wasp, and Phoenix Hawk. The resemblance to classic anime mecha style is impressive and adds an extra cool factor to the gaming experience. The miniatures are 4 cm tall and have a sturdy Construction, ensuring their longevity on the gaming table. The Warhammer, in particular, brings back nostalgic memories as it was featured in the original 1984 starter boxset. The quality of the miniatures, as well as the accompanying Alpha Strike cards and pilot cards, is commendable, with no bends or damage. Whether you're new to the game or a veteran player, this battle lance is a great addition to your collection. It can be played with both the "Battletech: A Game of Armored Combat" classic boxset or the "Alpha Strike Commander's Edition" rulebook, which offers two alternate rule sets. One potential drawback is that the package may arrive in an envelope rather than a box, which could result in some minor dings to the box itself. However, rest assured that the miniatures inside will be perfectly intact. If you prefer playing with the classic rules, you may need to download and print the PDF record sheets from the official BattleTech website. This inconvenience aside, the BattleTech Inner Sphere Battle Lance is a must-have for any mech enthusiast looking to expand their company of miniature warriors.
