I thought this would fit a maxim 82 yamaha, why did you lie to me?
Answer: The one that I purchased for my 81 Yamaha XJ650 perfectly, just as advertised. I am not sure what model you have but you might double check to make sure it is the correct part number. -

Will it fit my 1982 XJ?
Answer: Not positive. Fits perfect on my 1980 xj650. Don’t see why it wouldn’t fit yoir.
