The Scanpan Classic 8 Quart Covered Casserole is a versatile and large pan that is perfect for sautéing, making soups and stews, baking and steaming vegetables. It has a flat bottom of 9.25 inches and its sides are pretty much straight up. The pan is made in Denmark and comes with a tempered glass lid. It is compatible with ceramic/glass top stoves but the classic series pans are not compatible with induction cooktops. The pan is characterized by great design and is very well-made. It takes up to 500⁰ and can use metal utensils. Cleanup is very easy, nothing sticks to it. The stick-free surface may last for a long time but it's still uncertain given the pattern of some reviews that claim that food sticks and stops becoming non-stick after a few months, despite taking care of the pan per the instructions given. The Scanpan Classic 8 Quart Covered Casserole is a bit pricey at almost $200, but it is worth it for a durable non-stick pan that performs a variety of kitchen tasks.
