The Poolguard DAPT-WT Door Alarm is designed to provide an additional layer of protection against accidental drownings in the pool area. The unit has a UL 2017 rating, which means it meets the minimum requirements for pool safety alarms. The installation process is simple, and it can be used on doors, windows, and sliders with a magnetic switch that activates the alarm when the parts are separated. The pool alarm comes with an extra bypass that can be installed on the outside of the door if required. It is effortless to install, and batteries need to be purchased separately. The sound rating is loud, and it lasts till it's turned off or the battery dies. The product design of the Poolguard DAPT-WT Door Alarm is flawed. The curved side makes it challenging to stick to recessed door edges, and the included adhesive tapes are of poor quality. Many customers have reported the alarm falling off and triggering in the middle of the night. The product is not designed for hot and humid weather, nor does it adhere to metal frames.
