Action & Adventure Editorial Review
The film Apocalypto captivates the audience with its engaging story line and action-packed scenes. Director Mel Gibson did a wonderful job in portraying the advanced yet terrifying native Amazon cultures that preceded the arrival of Columbus. The actors and scenes are presented in a realistic and spectacular manner. Although the story isn't something new, this film's presentation of it is unique and leaves the viewers with so many questions about life in pre-Columbus Amazon. However, the picture quality of the current blu-ray release is disappointing, particularly for a blu-ray. Nevertheless, the movie itself is worth watching and is a classic film to add to your collection.
